"Sex Trafficking: Law and Policy"
About Our Speaker:
Alexandra Snyder is the Director of Academic Support at Trinity Law School. Prior to this, she served as the director of The Justice Clinic, a legal aid clinic providing legal counsel and mediation services for low income families and individuals in Sacramento. Prior to starting The Justice Clinic, Alexandra served as Counsel and Policy Director with Courage Worldwide, a California-based non-profit that provides homes and comprehensive services for victims of sex trafficking. Alexandra has a background in public policy, having served as Legislative Counsel to a California Member of Congress, working in both Washington, D.C. and the Sacramento area for over five years. In this capacity, she handled a wide array of legislative and policy issues, including human trafficking and the protection of human rights. Alexandra coordinated a number of regional public forums and congressional field briefings to raise awareness of the problem of sex trafficking and to foster collaboration between community partners to combat the trafficking of children in Northern California. Prior to working in a congressional office, Alexandra was the Executive Director of a community pregnancy center in Southern California, where she led efforts to open a home for young women in crisis. She has produced and co-hosted talk radio programs in Los Angeles, Colorado Springs, Sacramento, and Washington DC, often speaking on human rights and the protection of human dignity. Alexandra received her JD from Trinity Law School and is a member of the California State Bar. She has two grown sons and is married to John Snyder.
