Law Student Ministires

What to do if you encounter a problem or question about your law student group:

1. Immediately let the Law Student Ministries staff know about your problem. Contact Dan Kim (855-357-9800, x 3303) or Mike Schutt (903-575-0775) and let them know you have had questions raised, because they can provide you with helpful information.  Be respectful in your dealings with the law school administration and do your best to understand their position regarding your group.

2. If possible (but don't wait to collect this material before contacting Dan and Mike), provide Dan and Mike with a) the actual policy (either the nondiscrimination policy or the alleged all comers policy, or both), b) all of the university's policies regarding recognition of student organizations, and c) a list of other student organizations that are recognized.  Again, these are helpful to have but don't hesitate to contact Dan and Mike even if you do not have this information.

3. Be specific as to the reason(s) given by the administration for the problem.  Many universities administrators are not going to really understand the Martinez decision, so knowing the nature of their concerns helps us to address those concerns.
