Delia Bouwers Bianchin
Chapter President & Treasurer

Delia is the General Counsel for Penn United Technologies, Inc., a precision metal manufacturing facility located in Cabot, Pennsylvania.  Prior to joining Penn United in 2006, she served as a senior associate with Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott, LLC, in the firm’s litigation division for over five years.  Prior to her work at Eckert Seamans, she served as an associate at Kirkpatrick & Lockhart Gates for about four years.  Her practice has been focused on general commercial litigation with experience in a wide range of litigation-related matters in various federal and state courts across the country  She graduated with a B.A. from Calvin College in 1990 and received her J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1997, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Law and Commerce and Editor of theUniversity of Pittsburgh Law Review.  Delia serves on the Board of the Christian Legal Society on the national level and as the current President of the Western Pennsylvania Chapter of CLS.  She was the incorporator and one of the founding board members of the Christian Legal Aid of Pittsburgh, Inc.  She is a member of the Christian Legal Society, Allegheny County Bar Association and Pennsylvania Bar Association.  She resides in Butler, Pennsylvania with her husband Robert and two children, Julia and Simon, and attends St. Peter's Anglican Church.

Mary Bates

Mary is a Staff Attorney with Reed Smith LLP and provides firmwide support to the Business & Finance and Litigation Departments. She is an experienced transactional attorney with an extensive background in corporate transactions and compliance.
 
Prior to joining Reed Smith, Mary served as chief legal officer for a nonprofit corporation, the Washington City Mission, and spent considerable time reviewing and negotiating agreements, but more importantly, Mary developed and successfully implementing a pro bono legal clinic for the homeless called simply - The Legal Clinic. In addition, she has received national, statewide and local awards and recognition for her pro bono legal work. She has taught her CLE, The Serving Lawyer, to statewide audiences.
 
Mary is a board member of Southwestern Pennsylvania Legal Services, Inc. and former board member of the Washington County Bar Association. As a board member of the Washington County Bar Association, Mary served as chairperson of the Pro Bono and Lawyer Referral Service Committee and spearheaded the inaugural Pro Bono Attorney of the Year Award. Mary, a native Pittsburgher, is a graduate of the Duquesne University School of Law. She also earned a Master's Degree in English from Carnegie Mellon University and dual Bachelor's Degrees in English and Spanish from Duquesne University. Mary and her husband, who have four children, reside in the South Hills of Pittsburgh and attend church at South Hills Assembly of God.
 

 

Greg Burdette

Greg Burdette

Greg Burdette is a campus minister working with the CCO (Coalition for Christian Outreach) since 2009 to graduate students and young professionals, with a specific ministry to law students at the University of Pittsburgh. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2008 with a degree in political science, and has been working with the CCO since 2009. His ministry seeks to help graduate students and young professionals integrate their work and studies with their faith. He and his wife reside in the Shadyside neighborhood of Pittsburgh.

Jeremy L.S. Samek 
Chapter Secretary

Jeremy's practice focuses on commercial litigation and general civil litigation matters. His experience consists of matters involving complex contractual issues, the Uniform Commercial Code, vehicle warranty defense, federal class action defense and class action settlement, employee wage and employee classification issues, municipal zoning, shareholder valuation disputes, preparation and execution of mechanics’ liens, products liability defense and insurance coverage defense. Jeremy has represented clients in state and federal courts and in both arbitrations and mediations. Prior to joining Eckert Seamans, Jeremy was a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force Reserve, working in the Air Transportation Logistics field. In 2005, he was deployed to Kuwait in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and in 2006, he was deployed to Kyrgyzstan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.  Jeremy resides in Westmoreland County with his wife Sarah and their three sons, Noah, Liam and Luke, and attends Cornerstone Ministries in Murrysville.
