CHRISTIAN LEGAL AID OF PITTSBURGH

Doing Justice with the Love of God

CLA Pittsburgh provides Christian pro-bono legal services to individuals in the city who meet the poverty guidelines.  We are part of the Christian Legal Society national network, which has opened up over 60 legal clinics across the country to date with hopes to continue to expand that number to 100 in the next year or so in an effort to meet the needs of our communities.

Through our Christian volunteers, we offer free legal services to individuals within the poverty guidelines on several key areas where we believe the greatest needs lie within the local community, specifically including family law matters, protection from abuse, landlord/tenant issues, elder law issues, and consumer protection.  We also offer prayer support and spiritual counseling.

CLA Pittsburgh originally opened its doors in Oakland on January 29, 2004 and has since expanded into the Northside of Pittsburgh. CLA Pittsburgh is currently serving clients at Allegheny Center Alliance Church (www.acac.net) on the Northside every Monday night and at the Church of the Ascension (www.ascensionpittsburgh.org) on the first and third Thursday of the month.

CLA Volunteers Needed

CLA Pittsburgh operates entirely through volunteer lawyers, law students and non-attorneys, who donate their time to provide these services.  We provide malpractice insurance for our attorney volunteers.  We are always looking for new volunteers!
